About me
Hi, I am Burak! I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at Marion Silies lab @JGU Mainz working on visual processing of the amazing model organism, the fruit flies.
In the near future (end of 2023) I will be working at the Johannes Felsenberg lab @FMI Basel, on learning and memory.
Besides my research, I love being involved in projects aimed at a better world. Currently I volunteer at two non-profit science-related organizations:

Besides my research, I love being involved in projects aimed at a better world. Currently I volunteer at two non-profit science-related organizations:
- Neuromatch Academy: I am part of the organization team of Neuromatch Academy courses for comp. neuro and machine learning. I am involved in Teaching Assistant (TA) related topics such as TA selection, training, support, etc.
- TReND in Africa: I prepare material for and teach in a python course for African students. Also, I am part of the teaching team of TReND Comp. Neuro course that will take place in Ghana in June, 2023.
